RHAPSODY OF REALITIES.
Unusual…But Supernatural · Sunday, May 5th ·
Pastor Chris
…And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the
ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people
shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down
flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him
(Joshua 6:3-5).
The strategies, operations, and instructions of
the Spirit might oftentimes be "unusual"; but they’re always
supernatural, and produce miracles. Jericho was a part of the Promised
Land, and in Joshua 6:2, God told Joshua, "…see I have given into thine
hand Jericho and the king thereof and the mighty men of valour." The
Lord didn’t say, "I will give you Jericho…," but that "I have given into
thine hand Jericho...." This wasn’t a promise, but a statement of fact
coming from the Lord Himself.
Although God had given Jericho to
the children of Israel, there were still great walls surrounding the
city when Joshua and the army of Israel got there. Nevertheless, the
Lord had given Joshua a strategy with which to conquer Jericho. The
strategy was obviously an unusual one because no human mind would have
thought of bringing down those imposing walls by the mere sounding of
trumpets and the shout of weary men. Yet, the great walls of Jericho
miraculously came down because Joshua and the host of Israel acted on
the instruction of the Lord.
How important it is to act on the
Word and the guidance of the Spirit for you always! Imagine if Joshua
had tried to mentally reason out the Spirit’s instruction; he would have
woken up the next day to see those walls looming as defiantly as ever,
even though God had told him, "I’ve given Jericho into your hands." It’s
your responsibility to act on God’s Word and the instructions of the
Spirit that you receive. You can always achieve the results you want;
you can win every day, and achieve extraordinary success. The secret,
however, is to constantly fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the Word,
and be guided to excel and deal wisely in the affairs of life.
Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for your Word and its impact in my
life, and for the supernatural guidance that I receive from your Spirit.
I know I’ll always be successful and victorious because I live by your
Word and carefully follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thus, by your
grace, I deal wisely in all my affairs today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
