You Can Know God’s Will Through Praying In Tongues… Tuesday, May 14th
Pastor Chris
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit be speaketh mysteries (1 Corinthians 14:2).
Many people wonder if it’s possible to know the will of God.”God moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform,” they’d say. Obviously, they have the wrong perception of God, because God surely isn’t mysterious and doesn’t work in mysterious ways. He has revealed Himself and His Will to us primarily through His written Word. However, we can also know His will when we pray in other tongues.                       The Holy spirit is the one who gives us utterance when we speak in other tongues, and He never leads you outside the provisions of God’s word. When you pray with the spirit, in other tongues, the Holy Spirit imparts to you the knowledge of God’s will concerning issues of importance. Your mind doesn’t grasp the meaning of the utterances you make at such times, but you’re praying the will of God.
Romans 8:26 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered”. This is part of the ministry of the Spirit in your life; He helps you to pray aright, in line with the will of God. Praying in this manner-declaring the counsel of God-through the spirit will cause physical circumstances to align with God’s perfect will for your life.
How important it is to pray in other tongues! It helps you know and establish God’s will for your life! It enables you to shape the circumstances of your environment to be in conformity with His plans and purposes. Often, there’re certain changes you might want to see in your life, family, ministry, job, business, finances or academics, which may seem not to be happening. If you’d pray fervently in other tongues, you’d receive ideas and answers from the Holy Spirit through your spirit.
Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for the benefit and power of praying in other tongues. My spirit is enlightened to know your will and invigorated to walk therein, as I speak in other tongues today and make power available for my future, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Dispensers Of His Goodness! · Monday, May 13th ·

Pastor Chris

Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained (John 20:21-23).

In the verses above you’d notice that the Lord Jesus, after He had breathed on His disciples to receive the Holy Spirit, immediately said to them, "Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained." Therefore, as a believer, you’ve become a dispenser of His goodness: His mercy, grace, and love. Your ministry, hence responsibility, is to manifest His will, and reveal His character and purpose in the earth.

Remember, you’re an associate of the God-kind, and in partnership with the Lord; and now He’s given you the authority to forgive sins. In Mark 2:10, Jesus told the Jews that He, the Son of man, had power on earth to forgive sins. He’s given us the same authority that He had to dispense good things.

We can pronounce healing and other blessings on and for others, in the Name of Jesus, the same way we pronounce forgiveness. He has sent us as bearers of His Gospel, to unveil the Father’s heart of love and compassion to the nations of the world; such a high calling!

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for making me the dispenser of your goodness to my world. I am the extension, and manifestation of your grace, love, and compassion to all those I come in contact with today, having made me an able minister of the Gospel, not of the letter, but of the Spirit that gives life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Ability Of The Spirit · Sunday, May 12th ·

Pastor Anita

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6).

In 1 Samuel 2:9 the Bible says "…for by strength shall no man prevail." That means no one makes it in life by sheer muscles or human ability. You can’t function by your own human strength, wisdom and intelligence and expect to achieve much. You can only make real impact and achieve incontrovertible success when you function with the ability of the Spirit.

Knowing this, the Apostle Paul declared in 2 Corinthians 3:5 (AMP): "Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments {or} to claim {or} count anything as coming from us, but our power {and} ability {and} sufficiency are from God." When you function by the ability of the Spirit, you’ll never be at your wit’s end. You’ll never run out of power or the divine might to accomplish whatever task you have ahead of you.

Zerubbabel had a lot to accomplish for the Lord, but knew he couldn’t do the work with his human ability. Therefore, the Lord told the prophet Zechariah to give him the message: "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit." Now, he wasn’t telling Zerubbabel to just sit back and let the Spirit move him. Rather, he wanted him to function with the ability of the Spirit in accomplishing the work.

This was the secret to the success recorded by the Apostles in the Early Church as they carried out God’s work; they functioned by the power of the Spirit. The Apostle Paul, for one, made copious references to the ability of God’s Spirit in him. In Colossians 1:29, he said, "Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." He knew there was something energizing him from within: it was the power of the Spirit. No wonder he said, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13).

Recognize the working of the Spirit in you. That consciousness will produce a divine force that’ll propel you to accomplish things supernaturally: at your work, school, home, in your finances, physical body, and in every area of your life. Halleluiah.

Confession

I’m energized for victory and positioned for the transcendent life by the Spirit of God who lives in me! By Him, I labour, striving according to the working of His power that works within me mightily. I’m excelling in every area of my life, because the competence and excellence by which I function is by the Spirit.

The Communion Of The Holy Spirit. Saturday, May 11th ·

Pastor Chris

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen(2 Corinthian13:14)
This verse lets us know what we can enjoy from Jesus (the grace of Jesus Christ),and what we can enjoy from the Holy Spirit (the communion of the Holy Spirit). God the Father already proved His love in sending Jesus Christ to die that we may live. The grace of Jesus Christ, on the other hand, has been poured out on us through His death for us. We now enjoy that grace in its fullness (John 1:16-17); there couldn’t be anything better than what He (His grace) already accomplished for us on the cross of Calvary.
However, there’s something that continues: “the communion of the Holy Spirit.” This refers to the partnership, communication, or fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It includes talking with the Holy Spirit; yielding to His Lordship and guidance; sharing our thoughts with Him, and receiving His thoughts through the Word.
The kind of relationship we’re to cultivate with the Holy Spirit is one of the communion; a sharing together. The Father and the Son are in heaven, but the Holy Spirit lives in us, fostering this extraordinary communion with divinity. He’s the one that makes the presence of the Father and the presence of Jesus real to you such that wherever you are, you experience the divine presence. God doesn’t “go” from you, or “come” to you; you’re in Him and He’s in you, by the Holy Spirit.
Develop an intimate relationship with HIM by communing with Him constantly in prayer, and through meditation on the word. Consult with Him for answers and direction always. When you face challenges that seem insurmountable commune with Him, and He’ll show you what to do. No one but He can give you perfect counsel and guidance in life
Confession
I know that I’ll never walk in darkness, confusion or uncertainty because I’m in fellowship with the Holy Spirit; He’s my light, and the one who teaches me in the way that I should go, guiding me in the path of God’s perfect will! Amen.

Educate Your Spirit With The Word! · Friday, May 10th ·

Pastor Chris

The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart (Proverbs 20:27 NKJV).

The activities that take place in a man’s spirit are mostly what govern his life. Whether or not you’re going to be successful in life depends on what happens in your spirit, for out of your spirit are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23). As you navigate your way through life, it’s important that you train your spirit with the Word to be a sure-guide.

Negative thoughts and ideas (thoughts of failure, weakness, bitterness, wickedness, sickness and sin) may come to your mind, but as long as the Word of God is stored in your heart richly, you’ll be able to bring every negative thought into captivity to the obedience of the Word (2 Corinthians 10:5). One way to achieve this is by meditation. Through meditation, you stir up your spirit with the Word.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "…also he hath set the world in their heart...." In Luke 6:45 Jesus said, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." Thus, your spirit is an endless reservoir of blessings and good things. Whatever you might be in need of is already in you; bring it forth from your spirit. You can bring forth joy, success, prosperity, health, and wealth from within you, by learning to talk your spirit up with the Word of God.

2 Corinthians 4:7 says, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." Look inwards, for everything you need is in your treasure-store—your spirit.

Prayer

Dear heavenly Father, your Word has imparted wisdom to my spirit and renewed my mind to think at your level; thoughts that are consistent with your eternal purpose and will for my life! I bring forth good things from within my spirit today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Be Importunate In Prayer · Thursday, May 9th ·

Pastor Anita

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me (Luke 18:1-5).

The teachings of the Lord Jesus on faith are quite profound. In the text above, He taught on being persistent in prayer. He said men ought always to pray and not give up or lose heart. You’re supposed to pray in faith and expect results, because faith always works. To be discouraged or disheartened about a situation that you’ve prayed about, isn’t faith. Faith is the confident assurance and expectation that what you asked God for has been granted you. Therefore, you don’t give up; you remain importunate like the woman referenced by Jesus in our opening text.

Importunity in prayer doesn’t mean you’re unbelieving; it actually indicates faith, otherwise you won’t be insisting and standing your ground on the Word to produce results. Where some have missed it, however, is that they give up too soon. In faith, you stand your ground until it’s done.

Though there’s an adversary, the devil, that may try to stop your miracle, he’s no longer a factor. 1 Peter 5:8-9 says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world." In this scripture, you’re admonished on how to deal with Satan: you’re to resist him! James 4:7 further tells us the result of resisting him: he’ll "show a clean pair of heels"; that means bolt in terror. He’ll flee from you.

Don’t give up on your dreams. Keep nurturing your desires and your expectations with your faith-filled confessions. The Bible says if the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth (Ecclesiastes 11:3); your faith will surely prevail if you faint not.

Prayer Dear Father, thank you for helping me build strong and prevailing faith through your Word. Nothing is impossible unto me, and no level of success, victory and progress is unattainable for me because I live by faith in the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Word Is Your Life · Wednesday, May 8th ·

Pastor Chris

And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it (Deuteronomy 32:46-47).

The more you’re acquainted with the Word of God, through study and meditation, the more you realize that the Word is more than a book of instructions. The Word instructs us and guides us, but the Word is more than a guide: it’s your life. Job said, "…I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food" (Job 23:12). Understanding the Word of God would bring you to the same conclusion; like Moses, you’d see that the Word is your life. No wonder Moses knew the ways of God, while the children of Israel were only acquainted with the acts of God; they saw God’s Word as commandments to obey, but to Moses it was life.

The Word of God is the mirror of God that reflects your spiritual image. It reveals God’s opinion and perception of you. What glory and fulfilment you’d experience in your life once your spirit gets a hold of the picture of you that’s revealed in the Word! Realizing that God’s Word was given to you to reflect God’s picture of you will change your perspective on life.

I often say, "I know who I am" because of the picture, perception, and mentality the Word of God has given me. I see myself in God’s mirror—His Word— and act accordingly. See yourself in the mirror of God and act on the Word: think, talk, and live accordingly. Be who the Word says you are! Refuse to be anything else but the picture of you that you see in the Word. Satan, circumstances, and situations may try to sway you otherwise, but you must refuse all contrary opinions! Stick only with the picture of your life that the Word of God has presented to you.

Confession

I am who God says I am: I have what He says I have. I am full of power and might because His ability is at work in me. I declare that I am more than a conqueror, because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.

"…In His Image And Likeness" · Tuesday, May 7th ·

Pastor Chris

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness… (Genesis 1:26).

Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." As profound as this truth is, there’s more. Observe our theme verse again. God said, "…Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…." Made "after His likeness" means we were made to function like Him. Thus, not only do we look like Him, we can emulate Him; we can function like Him. The question then is, "How does He function?"

Genesis 1:1 gives us an idea; it says, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." This signifies that God is a creator, because the first thing we read about Him in the book of Genesis is that "He created": that indicates one of His functions. So, like Him, you’re a creator. Secondly, notice what He created: the heavens and the earth. Heaven is an environment, so also is the earth. They’re both environments that function in a certain way, based on design. This means that, with faith-filled proclamations, you can create your own environment of victory, prosperity and health.

Genesis 1:2 tells us what God did when the earth was without form, and in total chaos: with the creative word, He restored order, beauty and form to the earth; whatever He said came to be. Like Him, you can utter words—creative words of faith—and have what you say (Mark 11:23).

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for the ability to effect changes in the circumstances of my life by speaking forth your Word. Being a creator just like you are, I declare positive and tremendous changes in my finances, health, family, education, ministry, and business, today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Let Him Express Himself Through You! · Thursday, May 2nd ·

Pastor Chris

And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch (Acts 5:12).

God can use you if you let Him; He can do anything through you if you yield yourself to Him. He has already blessed you and made you a blessing; now He seeks to bless the world through you. He needs you as much as you need Him. As you study the scriptures, you’ll become more and more acquainted with how much the Lord needs you, for only through you can He show forth His goodness, grace, wisdom, and excellence to the world. He longs to express Himself through His children.

The natural or unregenerate man can’t know who God is until they meet you, for He has chosen to express His will and nature to your world through you. The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:19, "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." God manifested Himself to the world through Jesus Christ. However, before His glorious ascension, in John 14:16, Jesus said He’d ask the Father to send us "another comforter," who would abide with us forever; and the Father did (Acts 2:4).

The Holy Spirit lives in you today, and so everywhere you are, you can manifest the life of Christ! Men don’t see the Holy Spirit, but they see you, for you’re His perfect icon; you’ve become a "Christ-inyou" man or woman. He laughs, smiles, blesses, and touches the world through you. He even prays and intercedes through you: "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered" (Romans 8:26). He expresses the God-life and His faith through us.

Through active participation in God’s number one job, which is soul winning, you’d experience more manifestations of His love and character in you. That’s what Christianity really is; you’re a dispenser or distributor of the blessings of God.

Confession

I’m God’s outstretched arm; His expression of help, healing, deliverance and salvation to the world. I’m a blessing to my generation and a conveyor of the glories, graces, and excellencies of divinity. Blessed be God!

What Do You See? · Monday, May 6th ·

Pastor Anita

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight (Numbers 13:33).

It matters what you see and how you see. Do you see with your physical eyes, or with the eyes of faith? Those who look and see with their physical eyes are easily overwhelmed by the challenges of life. This was exactly what happened with the ten spies who gave a faithless response when they returned from spying out the land that God promised to the children of Israel. Let’s read part of what they said in Numbers 13:31-32: "But the men…said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we… the land…is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature."

What a picture of fear, unbelief, and defeat painted for the children of Israel by the faithless spies! However, Joshua and Caleb saw differently: that there were giants in the land made no difference. In their inspiring faith-response, they said, "…The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land…a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not" (Numbers 14:6-9). Whilst theirs was a leap on the Word, the other ten spies gave a faithless report, being men of the senses.

Never allow what your physical senses perceive— what you see, hear, or feel—determine the circumstances of your existence. Don’t judge after the sight of your eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of your ears (Isaiah 11:3). Don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are subject to change (2 Corinthians 4:18). Fix your gaze on God’s eternal and infallible Word only, and maintain the faith-response all the time.

Confession I’m not moved by what I see, feel or hear in the natural; rather, my thoughts, words and actions are inspired by the Spirit, through faith in God’s Word. I live a wonderful life of grace and blessings because I live in, and by, the Word. Halleluiah.

Unusual…But Supernatural · Sunday, May 5th ·

Pastor Chris

…And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him (Joshua 6:3-5).

The strategies, operations, and instructions of the Spirit might oftentimes be "unusual"; but they’re always supernatural, and produce miracles. Jericho was a part of the Promised Land, and in Joshua 6:2, God told Joshua, "…see I have given into thine hand Jericho and the king thereof and the mighty men of valour." The Lord didn’t say, "I will give you Jericho…," but that "I have given into thine hand Jericho...." This wasn’t a promise, but a statement of fact coming from the Lord Himself.

Although God had given Jericho to the children of Israel, there were still great walls surrounding the city when Joshua and the army of Israel got there. Nevertheless, the Lord had given Joshua a strategy with which to conquer Jericho. The strategy was obviously an unusual one because no human mind would have thought of bringing down those imposing walls by the mere sounding of trumpets and the shout of weary men. Yet, the great walls of Jericho miraculously came down because Joshua and the host of Israel acted on the instruction of the Lord.

How important it is to act on the Word and the guidance of the Spirit for you always! Imagine if Joshua had tried to mentally reason out the Spirit’s instruction; he would have woken up the next day to see those walls looming as defiantly as ever, even though God had told him, "I’ve given Jericho into your hands." It’s your responsibility to act on God’s Word and the instructions of the Spirit that you receive. You can always achieve the results you want; you can win every day, and achieve extraordinary success. The secret, however, is to constantly fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the Word, and be guided to excel and deal wisely in the affairs of life.

Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for your Word and its impact in my life, and for the supernatural guidance that I receive from your Spirit. I know I’ll always be successful and victorious because I live by your Word and carefully follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Thus, by your grace, I deal wisely in all my affairs today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Don’t Look At The Outward Appearance · Wednesday, May 1st ·

Pastor Chris

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

An important characteristic of strong faith is that it doesn’t look at the outward appearance of things; it doesn’t consider physical circumstances. Jesus refused to consider the fact that Lazarus was dead, even though He had previously said that Lazarus’ sickness wouldn’t lead to death (John 11:4). That the man eventually died, and had been buried for four days didn’t make any difference to Jesus because His faith was focused on His spoken Word. He knew that the Father heard His faith-filled words.

Now, watch what the Master did: He called Lazarus out from the grave, just as you’d call out someone sleeping in a room next to you. That’s faith. With faith, there’s no such thing as "hopeless" or "an impossible situation." Nothing is impossible, because anything is possible! In the faith arena, you don’t give up.

Men give up when they base their judgements and perceptions on sense evidence. The natural man’s senses, for instance, have been trained to say, "I have stomach pain," just because he felt pain in his stomach. He’s been trained to recognize fear and say, "I’m scared"; he’s been trained to recognize lack and say, "I’m broke." However, faith speaks in conformity with God’s Word. So, you may say, "I feel headaches, but I’m healed." You must emphasize your healing and health. Never let your feelings control you or the circumstances of your life. What you feel must not control or dictate what you have or are in the Word.

It makes no difference what you see, hear, or feel; it makes no difference how negative or impossible things may look in the natural; keep confessing the Word! The Word of faith in your mouth produces results. Therefore, refuse to consider circumstances or recognize impossibilities.

Confession

The wisdom of God is at work in me, and my faith is alive! My opinions, judgments, and responses are not according to what my natural senses perceive, but according to the Word. My life is the daily expression of the Word of God, in the Name of Jesus.
