RHAPSODY OF REALITIES.
Let The Word Have Power Over You · Thursday, June 20th ·

Pastor Chris

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness (Hebrews 3:7-8).

Abraham was a man who greatly esteemed God’s instructions. In Genesis 22:2, the Lord said to him, "Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of." As tough as this instruction was, Abraham didn’t question it; rather, he acted accordingly and would have sacrificed his son, had the Lord not prevented him. His motivation was, "God said so!"

It ought to be the same for you. Your pleasure in life shouldn’t be the excitement of doing the things you like, but doing the things the Lord said to do. Just as in Abraham’s case, God’s instruction to you may seem unpleasant; for instance, He may tell you to stay on a job you don’t like very much. Don’t argue about it; stay on the job and choose to like it and make a success of it because the Lord said so.

God’s Word comes to us to transform, correct, and guide us. When it comes to you, don’t be casual with it, or reason it away. If you’re about to make a decision and the Word of God tells you differently, don’t harden your heart; choose the Word-way. God’s Word will always show you the more excellent way to go.

Jesus wept over Jerusalem because the people didn’t recognize Him; the Word of God. Thus, they missed the time of their visitation (Luke 19:44). That’s what happens to those who harden their hearts against the Word; it passes them by. It’s my prayer that God’s Word will always have power in your life to mould, correct, and reprove you; making you that man or woman that God has destined you to be.

Prayer

Dear Father, I rejoice at your Word as one who has found great treasure. Your Word is my life, and has the final authority over me, and all that I do. I’ll forever yield myself to the Lordship of your Word to mould, correct and fashion me into that glorious personality that you’ve ordained me to be, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
